CoopTube Video Upload Instructions

Video files require a large amount of space, and space costs money. To keep CGIN costs down we will not be housing CoopTube videos. What this means for you is that videos will need to be uploaded onto the internet via another website (your own, YouTube, Google Video, etc.). Once the file is uploaded onto the web, you can enter the video's URL into the submission form: (http://www.cgin.coop/node/add/cooptube-vid).

If you have a video that you want to keep private, please use Google Video.

If you have problems uploading videos or would like CGIN to upload videos to our YouTube account, please contact Nick Summy.

Google Video Instructions

There are two ways to get your videos onto Google Video.

- If your video file is under 100 MB, the easiest and fastest way to upload a video is to use the web-based uploader. Uploading from the web-based uploader allows you to view, share, and post your video instantly. However, please note that your video will not be searchable or downloadable until it has been processed.

- If your video is over 100 MB or if you'd like to upload multiple files at once, the Google Video Uploader client software is your best bet. Click here to download and install the program. You must then log in to your Video status page after uploading to enter your video's metadata after uploading content with this software. Also, your video won't be available until after it has been processed.

For more information on video processing, please visit http://video.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=26563.

You only need to install the Google Video Uploader once, after which you can upload your videos at any time. To upload additional videos:

1. On your desktop, click "Start," then click "All Programs."

2. Open the "Google Video" folder and click "Google Video Uploader."

3. Sign in to the Google Video Uploader.

4. Click "Add" to upload your videos. (You can also drag and drop multiple files.)

5. Confirm that you own the necessary rights to the content.

6. Click "Upload Now."

7. Enter your video information on your Upload Status page.

8. Once you have the URL for the video, enter that into the CoopTube submission form.
