In the spirit of cooperation, CGIN offers a number of resources to anyone interested, whether you are
a member of CGIN or not. In this section, you will find:

  • Start a Food Co-op using CGIN’s free updated How to Start a Food Co-op Manual

  • CGIN’s list of members, with city, state, and web address

  • Co-op Discussion Course. Form a discussion group in your area with the group-education tool for people who would like to become familiar with cooperative economics, history and philosophy.

  • Information of interest to food co-ops, co-ops in the news, current updates on the annual Consumer Cooperative Management Association conference and the Howard Bowers scholarship fund for attending the conference, access to the Co-op Month toolkit, and a list of links on co-op topics.

  • Information of interest for food co-op directors, includes links to various online resources for directors of food co-ops.

  • Industry reports provides a free and purchasable list of reports for the retail industry.

  • Find a co-op near you using Cooperative Grocer’s Co-op Directory

  • CoopTube is similar to YouTube, but strictly for food co-ops. Visit CoopTube to view commercials, vendor tours, consumer information, videos about co-ops, etc.

  • Other links on food and retail operations, such as producer associations, consumer information, government agencies, manufacturers and suppliers, HR topics, and publications.

  • Special topics that arise, usually on issues like food safety and public advocacy campaigns on food issues.
